Wurst und Pierogi
- an artist with Eastern European migration backgrounds -
In my artistic practice, I delve deeply into the phenomena of everyday life. My inquiries range from questions about the representation and reception of various themes or specific objects in daily life and its media, to the precise geometric arrangement of these objects, as well as reflections on personal and interpersonal experiences and the spaces they inhabit. Beyond my connection to the everyday, what unifies my work is a shared focus on repetition, multiplication, an acute attention to detail, and an inquisitive, unhurried perspective — akin to that of a child. Moments that may initially seem casually captured transform my respective works into subjective perceptions infused with a yearning for home, resulting in the staging of objects within carefully crafted environments.
I am interested in challenging established patterns and routines, expanding familiar perceptions through new lenses. I aim to create a temporary space that, within the context of my slavic migrant backgrounds, showcases how my affinity for different kinds of sensibilities merges with my lived experiences. Each of my works will contribute to a kind of immersive experience, ranging from photographed fragments to scenes from daily life presented as spatial objects, like mobiles hanging above the heads of visitors. The installation's elements encourage multiple perspectives, allowing for varied interpretations from different points of view.
